Loans & Grants Program Guidelines

With the support of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors, Columbia Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) and Columbia County Chamber of Commerce (CCCC) have partnered to implement and manage a three-year program to assist county-based small businesses and local
economic development committees.

CEDC has committed up to $500,000 of funding for small business loans

Columbia County has provided the following from its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
funding

  • $50,000 to compliment CEDC small business loan clients
  • $450,000 to provide business support programs and technical assistance

Eligibility

  • Business operations in Columbia county
  • Minimum of 2 years in business
  • 25 employees or less
  • Credit eligible business owners
  • Exceptions on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the CEDC Board of Directors Loan Committee

Funding

  • Up to $25,000 loan

  • Grants equal to 10% of the approved loan amount capped at $2,500 per borrower

  • Funds can be used for purchase of equipment & inventory, working capital, employee training

  • 3.75% interest rate
  • Up to 10 year term
  • Subject to CEDC underwriting policies
